Feeling pathetic

scottahillOK, I applied for a 2-year instructorship at Bowling Green, and I've just found out I didn't make the first cut. This is a non-tenure-track position, and it's being advertised after all the best people have been taken off the market.
How pathetic. It's hard to keep looking for positions, and write thse chirpy little cover letters about how wonderful I am and what an asset I would be blah blah blah, after all this.
