Reunion 13 so far

So I got into Pittsfield about 4:30, knowing I had about 4 hours to kill before meeting people at Ben & Jerry's, so I started walking through the town looking for a place to sit. I wasn't hungry yet, but I thought I'd wander over in the direction of B&J's to see if my usual pizza place was there, and I decided to walk a little further to see if Ben and Jerry's was open.

It wasn't. In fact, it seems to have closed for good. The note on the door sounded rather final, things like "We've enjoyed serving you these many years" etc.

So I call Emily Bruce on the phone in Williamstown to tell her not to come down, put a note on the door handle (I had no tape; I wonder if it stayed there), and booked it over to the bus terminal to catch the last bus north. Made it, but the bus only went as far as North Adams. So I called and left another message with Emily, then went over to have dinner at Papa Gino's.

Now it's 8:13, we were going to meet at B&J's, and I haven't heard back from Emily, so I call her again. This time she answers, I asked her if she got my messages, but she thought I meant the email messages and said yes, and about how they had finally gotten all the cars together and ready to leave. I said, no, the messages about how Ben & Jerry's is closed and I'm in North Adams....

We ended up at Friendly's, the current Bethans and I.

Hmm, I'm being chased out of the library. More later....
